About The Position

Join a team that plays a critical role in supporting wildlife conservation across the state. As the Business Analyst, you will work closely with the Administrative Assistant Chief to oversee and enhance major licensing programs. Your work will directly impact customer experience, licensing operations, fiscal accountability, and the effectiveness of wildlife management programs. In this role, you'll collaborate daily with the Administrative Assistant Chief, Licensing Coordinator, Department of Technology Services (DTS) staff, Wildlife Program Coordinators, and licensing support teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and customer-focused service delivery. You'll also provide leadership to staff by managing performance, supporting professional development, and overseeing key operational processes. Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of wildlife laws, administrative rules, and wildlife licensing and draw systems.
  • Experience managing or coordinating wildlife programs and supervising staff.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills, particularly in a licensing, regulatory, or wildlife environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of hunting and fishing rules and regulations, including license agent sales processes.
  • Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience assisting with budget monitoring, tracking or oversight.
  • Working knowledge of information technology systems, including experience supporting or coordinating system functionally, troubleshooting, or enhancements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience collaborating with IT staff to identify, document, and address licensing system needs related to data integrity, system functionality, or process improvements.
  • Experience reviewing proposed statutes, rules, or policy changes and assessing their impacts on the division's operations and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Managing customer interactions, paperwork requirements and refund processes.
  • Managing the surrender process, reinstatement of points of permits.
  • Collaborating with the licensing coordinator and the DTS staff when working on the electronic process related to licensing issues.
  • Overseeing the fiscal reports from the draw contract.
  • Overseeing staff, including approval of timesheets, conducting performance evaluations (UPMs), and managing other daily supervisor duties.
  • Managing and overseeing the administration of the hunt planner application.
  • Collaborating with Wildlife program coordinators to determine license trends, marketing needs, quotas, season dates, area descriptions, and other essential information for species management plans.
  • Overseeing the issuance of special offers and the voucher creation process.
  • Coordinating performance metrics with the Admin Assistant Chief.
  • Other duties as assigned.
