About The Position

The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding current business practices and working collaboratively with users to provide support to our business partners. Using functional knowledge, the analyst engages with technical peers to solve complex business problems, by means of a systematic and disciplined approach. This position employs business process knowledge, analysis, design, testing and collaboration with technical peers to accomplish assignments.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Preferred emphasis in accounting, finance, management, information systems, business or related field
  • Experience and ability to design and implement technology-enabled business solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present and translate IT information to internal staff and management in relevant business terms
  • Ability to present information persuasively, and to build consensus around proposed solutions across multiple functions
  • Ability to build relationships and interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, subject matter experts, business users, and outside vendors
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to compile effective and concise visual reports in charts, graphs, and table format
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite to include Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Viso, and Word
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
  • Ability to consistently operate a computer and other productivity machinery
  • Capability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed within the organization’s footprint, with the possibility of infrequent overnight travel for training.
  • Ability to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil Company employees and customers in English
  • Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Function as the ERP systems promoter by representing software functionality and applications that support key finance and supply chain areas
  • When operational or performance problems occur, function in the coordinator and communicator role for resolution by pursuing a root-cause and continuous improvement approach
  • Provide functional and business process experience during upgrade and implementation projects
  • Develop training and documentation for end-users via training and procedure groups
  • Plan, lead and actively participate in design and configuration when systems and applications customizations are required
  • Understand financial and/or distribution application process flows and functionality, and plan detail test cases and scripts to conduct conference room pilots, system integration and user acceptance testing
  • Facilitate alignment between the business and IT department by maintaining strong relationships between IT and its users
  • Utilize knowledge of systems and reporting tools to gather, analyze, summarize data for management review
  • Serve as a project coordinator or individual contributor, as required, to analyze business processes, systems, policies, and practices
  • Participate in requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing and hyper-care for ERP enhancements and/or new technology solutions
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge appropriate for the applications and technology services required by the business including current awareness of technological and related business trends
