About The Position

Provides support and input in organization efforts required in implementation, deployment, and support of systems to meet business requirements. Participates in analysis and recommendations related to the redesign of business processes, ensuring operational efficiencies and excellence. Understands and documents the company’s direction, including the design and implementation of workflows, training, and end-user support. Acts as a liaison between internal customers and EIT departments. Responsible for placing safety as the #1 priority in day-to-day work routines for self and others. This position can be located within the Company service territory, including ID, MN, MT, OR, SD, WA, or WY, with a preference for candidates in the Bismarck, ND or Boise, ID areas.

Requirements

  • Must possess knowledge of business systems and processes at a level normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, or related business experience.
  • Two years' related experience (for BA II).
  • Four years' related experience (for BA III).
  • Six years' related experience (for BA IV).
  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
  • May be required to maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
  • Requires good judgement, creative thinking, good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills; Effective team and communications skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Understanding of business processes and related business software systems.
  • Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality of all company information.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an IT, system or business support role (for BA I).
  • Good working knowledge of utility, energy, pipeline, or natural gas regulations and compliance requirements (for BA I).
  • Two years' experience in utility, energy, pipeline or natural gas business practices (for BA II).
  • Familiar with relational databases and structured query language (SQL) (for BA III).
  • Four years’ experience in utility, energy, pipeline, or natural gas business practices (for BA III).
  • Six years’ experience in utility, energy, pipeline, or natural gas business practices (for BA IV).
  • Experience developing reporting and dashboarding in Business Intelligence Tools.
  • Knowledge and use of AI agents to analyze large data sets.
  • Experience with Data Warehouses and Data Lakes.

Responsibilities

  • Participates and assists in the administration and coordination activity associated with the supported systems.
  • Performs tasks and participates in system test plans; the preparation of test plans, test data, and documentation. Performs and monitors required testing to ensure the system functions in accordance with business requirements and technical design. Identifies and documents system deficiencies and recommends solutions.
  • Participates and assists the BA team, users, and EIT on maintenance, enhancement tasks, and/or as part of a team on such activities.
  • Monitors and keeps abreast of new technologies. Seeks ways to improve business and application efficiencies.
  • Participates and assists in activities related to the integrity of system data and usage.
  • Participates and/or assists in troubleshooting as needed.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • May act as project manager on assigned projects (Levels III and IV).
  • Continuously reviews and investigates emerging technologies related to assigned areas of responsibility (Levels III and IV).
  • Assists in training and coordinating work with other business analysts to expand the knowledge base of the entire team (Levels III and IV).
