About The Position

The Business Analyst performs business analysis across technology and business improvement projects, focusing on stakeholder analysis, requirements development and management, and acceptance testing. The role assists with or leads the identification and clarification of innovative business solutions that support divisional strategic goals and align with corporate strategy. It works on complex assignments, including enterprise-wide projects, and helps deliver business value through analysis, collaboration, and effective project practices. The role participates in developing the Business Analysis Practice and Business Analysis Framework, including writing and updating business case documents. It assesses and documents business value propositions and maintains focus on them throughout business improvement projects. The Business Analyst partners with customers and business partners to identify and represent stakeholder needs and encourage improved business analysis practices. The role also establishes business processes, structures project and work breakdowns, and tracks budgets, expenditures, transaction controls, and costs against budgets. The position calls for a primary driver of collaboration on project teams who influences decisions and engages project leaders, sponsors, and key stakeholders to support optimal business value delivery. It also regularly serves as a mentor and role model for other analysts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
10 or more years of experience.
Progressive experience providing business analysis in employee benefits, financial services, technology delivery, or related fields.
Demonstrated communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
Verbal and written communication, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Leadership and mentoring skills, including providing support and constructive performance feedback.
Strong knowledge of design techniques and principles used in producing drawings and models.
Strong knowledge of computer software such as Visual Basic, Java, and SQL.
Ability to handle a wide range of complex assignments, including enterprise-wide assignments, and define procedures or identify innovative approaches to analytical tasks.

Nice To Haves

Achievement of or progress toward Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA).
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, certification in Process or Performance Management, or certification in Quality Assurance/Testing is desirable.

Responsibilities
