About The Position

As part of the Securities Back Office Technology team, the Business Analyst will be responsible for writing system requirements that will ensure the technology solution will meet the needs of the business. Requires a high-level understanding of systems, industry and end-user requirements. Applies specialized domain knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Make judgements and recommendations based on analysis and knowledge.

Requirements

  • General understanding of SDLC, IT methodologies, and IT procedures.
  • Proficiency in issue tracking, change management, and requirements gathering.
  • Familiarity with Agile processes.
  • Gathering and interpreting information from diverse sources, including databases and interviews.
  • Drafting Business Requirements Document (BRD) and Functional Requirements Document (FRD).
  • Utilization of Agile methodology, SQL, Oracle, JSON, and other advanced technologies.
  • Advanced SQL query writing skills are highly desirable.
  • Experience with TFS and Postman / swagger is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Experience with basic ETL/ODI is beneficial.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct SQL queries in Oracle databases to research or troubleshoot issues.
  • Translate technical concepts for a business audience and vice versa.
  • Identify and analyze issues, problems, and opportunities using data from multiple sources.
  • Effectively communicate information and ideas to individuals or groups through various media.
  • Recommend appropriate solutions consistent with available facts and constraints.
  • Demonstrate technical and professional expertise, staying current with developments in relevant areas.
  • Consistently integrate AI-based tools into daily workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster collaborative relationships to achieve work goals.
  • Prioritize client needs and cultivate productive business relationships.
  • Collaborate effectively in team environments or project rooms to facilitate cooperation.
  • Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, High School (HS) (Required)
  • General Experience - 13 months to 3 years

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst would be preferred.
  • Prior experience in the Financial Services sector is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration to elicit requirements for product definition and conduct detailed analysis.
  • Develop comprehensive business requirements encompassing both functional (e.g., business processes, rules) and non-functional (e.g., data, security) capabilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, assimilating and articulating information across the organization.
  • Work closely with distributed and continuous engineering teams to ensure alignment on solution outcomes.
  • Translate requirements into detailed user stories to construct and validate business scenarios or use-cases, effectively communicating them to Development and SQM teams for streamlined solution development.
  • Maintain prioritized application backlogs of user stories for Planning and Implementation, aligning with business priorities or enhancing value for end users.
  • Analyze data from various sources to inform decision-making processes.
  • Prepare and share data mapping documentation for model development purposes.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance client experience focusing on value, service, and attention to detail.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate new procedures, products, and securities back-office enhancements.
  • Partner with design teams to visualize requirements into prototypes.
  • Apply principles of risk management, issue tracking, and change management to project activities.
  • Actively engage in training and education programs to stay updated on firm strategic priorities, professional development, and procedures.
  • Proactively contribute to firm initiatives directed by local management.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
