As a Business Analyst Sr within PNC's Finance organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. As a Business Analyst Consultant - Non-Technical within PNC’s Financial Systems, Management Accounting Group, located in Pittsburgh, PA, you will work on a team that supports the OFSA Platform and be responsible for maintenance, support, project implementation, and testing management accounting cost allocations. While this position will be primarily responsible for monthly activities supporting the management accounting process, focusing primarily on cost allocations, additional responsibilities include supporting technology platforms used within Finance. This will include a mix of production and project responsibilities, including the ability to work more than 40 hours per week to support peak production times and/or critical project deadlines. You will complete financial analysis for business segments or staff functions and work with the team to ensure the integrity of PNC financial data by examining, verifying, balancing, and reconciling various types of transactions. On a monthly basis, your contributions will help “tell the story” of PNC lines of business to Internal Management. Lastly, you will be asked to evaluate and recommend alternative solutions with respect to financial analysis performed or projects assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in a production environment to support platforms such as OFSA, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Essbase, or similar applications
  • Working knowledge of general accounting, accounting systems, financial reporting, and financial analysis. In addition, a solid understanding of management accounting concepts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Proficiency with SQL queries a plus
  • Solid experience with OFSA, Hyperion Essbase and SQL queries preferred.
  • Insightful curiosity to constructively challenge presented information to make sure it is accurate and meaningful.
  • Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Able to use technology, contacts and deductive reasoning to get to the bottom of project issues.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Leads month-end production of organizational reporting through the OFSA application.
  • Production cycle runs from BD -3 through BD5.
  • OFSA results provide lines of business with balance sheets and income statements for use in analysis and performance measurements for use in both internal and external reporting.
  • Production processes include management of OFSA user interface in conjunction with reviewing of production results via querying of OFSA database through SQL as well as Hyperion Essbase.
  • Responsibilities also include ad hoc assignments, project leadership, and testing of system enhancements outside of month-end production cycle.
  • Directs in the research, discovery, collection and interpretation of business requirements, and participates in the development and review of processes and procedures, workflow analytics, and reporting.
  • Provides consultation to clients on business designs, problem solving and business analysis to support project management.
  • Develops and maintains of all applicable policy and procedure documentation.
  • Independently obtains and identifies the business requirements needed to carry out and improve applicable business processes.
  • Provides expertise and problem-solving for clients and technology teams throughout the business analysis process.
  • Translates business needs, processes and/or procedures by partnering with applicable experts and business stakeholders to determine and articulate needs.
  • May communicate with stakeholders and technology teams on moderately complex business requirements, provides gap analysis and facilitates future business process modeling for clients.
