Whether working from your home or collaborating onsite, your professional experience will be connected and meaningful. Our office offers an RTD Eco-pass (currently free of charge), a secure bike room accessible only to building tenants, and we are conveniently located near Civic Center Station, RTD light-rail lines, the 16th Street Mall, and Denver's bike network.In addition to a great location and fulfilling, impactful work, we offer: The Business Analyst/Project Manager plays a critical role in the elicitation and documentation of Division project requirements, which are then used to develop process and technical design documents and test cases, in order to deliver efficient and effective projects that are accurate in scope, address documented needs, and are delivered on time and within budget. The position will work under the direction of, and in collaboration with, program managers and division management in the Elections Division Project Management & Support Team to gain a fuller understanding of how to support operational and management staff through addressing issues related to the operations and workflow processes of the Division.

Requirements

  • This position requires a total of five (5) years of relevant professional experience and/or education in a field of study related to the work.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience, which must include any two from the below list:
  • Experience working in the capacity of a business analyst
  • Experience managing projects and processes
  • Developing training plans and schedules for product/process implementation
  • Experience with tracking and reporting on project/program status through clear and timely communication
  • Gathering and analyzing business requirements
  • Creating informed and appropriate improvement recommendations for programs and processes
  • A combination of related education and/or relevant experience as defined in Option 1 to equal five (5) years. Related education includes accredited course work in Business Analysis, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance or Accounting, or in a field of study closely related to the work environment.
  • Transcripts from colleges or universities outside the United States must be assessed for U.S. equivalency by a NACES educational credential evaluation service. This documentation is the responsibility of the applicant and must be included as part of your application materials. Failure to provide a transcript or credential evaluation report may result in your application being rejected and you will not be able to continue in the selection process for this announcement.
  • Must be a Colorado resident at the time of application.

Responsibilities

  • Managing projects within the division including but not limited to RFI/RFP creation, project timeline, project deployment, and project performance metrics.
  • Working with Department/Division Subject Matter Experts (SME) and other stakeholders to document business processes as they currently exist, identify issues and opportunities for process improvement, generate desired state process maps, elicit and document project requirements, and assist program managers in developing project scope.
  • Communicating effectively with Division staff and program managers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Providing analysis of the Division's system requirements, functional specifications, business processes, and other practices related to Division operations.
  • Assisting Division program managers and leadership in developing and analyzing performance metrics, tracking performance trends, and identifying opportunities for improvements in performance measurements.
  • Identifying the latent needs of Division staff and management in order to recommend improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of Division programs.
  • Taking the lead in tracking and testing the implementation of new and existing software/hardware applications. Debriefing, training, and collaborating with appropriate business units on any changes or enhancements.

  • Maintaining confidentiality of all voters confidential and personal identifying information, personnel information, and any other confidential or proprietary information, as well as complying with all State and Department policies regarding professional conduct and professional practices.
  • In addition to the primary duties listed above, the position will also provide on-going support to Division staff as needed and assigned.
