About The Position

Global Banking and Markets (GBM) conducts the Bank’s wholesale banking and capital markets business with corporate, government and institutional investor clients. GBM is a full-service wholesale bank and investment dealer in Canada and Mexico and offers a range of products and services in the U.S., Latin America and in select markets in Europe and Asia-Pacific. More specifically, GBM provides clients with: corporate lending; transaction banking (including payments, trade finance and cash management); investment banking (including corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions); fixed income and equity underwriting, sales, trading and research; prime services (prime brokerage and stock lending); foreign exchange sales and trading; commodity derivatives; and collateral management. This role contributes to the overall success of the Market Data Services Group/GBM based in Canada with global scope ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or other related discipline)
  • Ability to work in dynamic internal team and group environments to further team objectives
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, principles, analysis, and market data industry (5 yrs+)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with MS Excel, MS Word, report design, and data visualization (graphs/charts)
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and applies a results-oriented approach
  • Strong contracts administration and/or vendor management experience
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to concurrently manage multiple projects with different deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Perform and maintain end-user permissions and changes for major data vendors (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Standard & Poors/Moodys/Wood Mackenzie) with the ability to understand at a high level the major data vendor’s key payment and entitlement/payment processes and system nuances
  • Be a subject matter expert with respect to the TRG FITS market data inventory system: in addition to diligently updating and maintaining TRG FITS, be accountable and responsible for all new module implementations/QA testing and related training efforts including impact assessments on the end user community and internal groups and system interfaces (Finance/ End Users and HR etc.)
  • Take the lead and accountability for accurate and timely generation of all ad hoc and regular reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) and executive dashboards
  • Liaise with lines of business globally to help define and formalize approval processes, provide ad hoc/recurring reporting and analysis
  • Resolve end-user issues with vendor services in a timely fashion working with internal teams
  • Analyze invoices from vendors for reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Allocate/process all incoming invoices specific to Market Data Service Licensing and Subscriptions Services using Finance SmartBuy system, ensuring prompt action to facilitate timely payment to Vendors by Finance groups
  • Define and maintain cost allocations for users and departments consuming market data and associated delivery platforms
  • Work directly with the Director and Senior Managers (Market Data Services) and provide assistance by utilizing analytical skill sets/ TRG FITS knowledge and help create cost saves initiatives/strategies, review of current and forecasted business and vendor spend patterns and assist in any potential process and procedural improvements in the Operations space
  • Take a lead role in the successful and timely implementation of any ad hoc projects and initiatives related to Operations/Compliance – Audit related activities
  • Design and maintain procedures for processes and business continuity for market data vendors covered.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
