Business Analyst III (Senior)

VersiTech / Bold Integrated Payments / Tonic•Sandy Springs, GA

About The Position

VersiTech is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to own the internal portfolio across departments. This role involves governing demand, running intake across multiple departments, holding prioritization to evidence, and making the case for what gets built and what does not. The primary challenge is declining requests from department heads, requiring defensible and consistent reasoning grounded in process costs. This role also involves measuring the impact of automation by quantifying hours saved, providing a return on investment in the same units as the cost. The Senior Business Analyst will report to the Senior Vice President of Technology, Edie Woelfle. The Business Analysis function serves internal departments, distinguishing it from Product Owners who serve external customers. This is a hybrid role based in Atlanta with regular on-site days, essential for understanding departmental operations and maintaining relationships. The role involves managing processes that cross departmental boundaries, distinguishing problems worth automating from those worth eliminating, and identifying when departmental requests are symptoms of decisions made elsewhere. Recommendations should clearly state trade-offs. The role also includes owning the measurement discipline, capturing baselines, reporting results, maintaining an annual view of system maintenance costs, and supplying evidence for funding conversations. Defining analysis standards, mentoring junior analysts, and documenting systems are also key responsibilities. Understanding financial systems, control, and audit implications, especially concerning payment and finance data, is crucial. Month-end and close deadlines are treated as production commitments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, or internal consulting.
  • Proven ability to govern demand across multiple stakeholders, not only to serve it.
  • Track record of recommending against builds and making that recommendation stick.
  • Experience quantifying process cost and benefit credibly enough to support funding decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder skills with senior, non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience analyzing processes that cross departmental boundaries.
  • Excellent written communication, particularly for recommendations that will be challenged.
  • Ability to mentor and set standards for other analysts.
  • Based in the Atlanta area or willing to relocate, and able to work on site on a regular schedule.
  • Employment eligibility in the U.S. is required, as VersiTech, LLC will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep experience with finance processes, including close, reconciliation, and commission or residual calculation.
  • Strong data skills, including direct querying and reporting against a warehouse.
  • Experience establishing an intake or demand governance process from scratch.
  • Familiarity with internal chargeback, showback, or cost-transfer funding models.
  • Exposure to audit and controls requirements on financial systems.
  • Experience with internal tooling, workflow automation, or BI platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own intake across all internal departments.
  • Run the quarterly forum where department heads rank requests against each other.
  • Hold prioritization to evidence and say no in a way that survives escalation.
  • Prevent the queue growing faster than it drains.
  • Take on processes that cross departmental boundaries.
  • Distinguish problems worth automating from problems worth eliminating.
  • Identify where a departmental request is a symptom of a decision made elsewhere.
  • Bring recommendations that name the trade-offs rather than only the upside.
  • Own the measurement discipline: baselines captured before work, results reported after.
  • Maintain the annual view of what is being maintained and what it costs.
  • Supply the evidence behind funding conversations, including what each department avoids by having the work done.
  • Distinguish maintenance from enhancement in writing.
  • Attend every scrum ceremony run by the pod you work with (daily scrum, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint review, and retrospective).
  • Define how analysis is done here: what a current-state document contains, what a requirement must include.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level analysts.
  • Document systems and processes as they are delivered, not afterward.
  • Ensure no delivered system depends on one person's memory.
  • Understand the control and audit implications of changes touching payment and finance data.
  • Flag where access, retention, or separation questions need Platform involvement.
  • Treat month-end and close deadlines as production commitments.
