About The Position

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis’s Financial Support Office – National Accounting and Customer Support (FSO NACS) is seeking a Business Analyst to join our Merger and Account Coordination Team. FSO NACS provides Merger Coordination service to the Reserve Banks performing coordination responsibilities for Mergers and/or Acquisitions (Charter/RTN Swaps, Purchase and Assumptions, Subaccount Conversions). FSO NACS also provides Account Coordination serving as the contact between Financial Institutions and Federal Reserve business lines for the coordination of Master Account Openings, DeNovo Openings, and Voluntary Account Closures. You will be a key team member of the Merger and Account Coordination (MAC) Team who support the 12 Federal Reserve Banks. This team is part of the NACS Division which is part of the Financial Support Office (FSO) and provides general ledger and customer accounting, including depository institution (DI) and billing for the FSO. There is one vacancy that will be filled at either a Business Analyst II or III level. To be considered at either level, you must meet the required education and relevant years of experience. Minneapolis Applicants: This position requires regular on-site presence.

Requirements

  • BA II: 3 years of direct work-related experience or equivalent combination of related completed higher education and experience. Experience in business operations or financial environment preferred.
  • BA III: 5 years of direct work-related experience or equivalent combination of related completed higher education and experience. Experience in business operations or financial environment preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise accounting applications and MS Power Platform.
  • Experience supporting, managing and prioritizing multiple assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with writing, drafting procedures, defining processes, and delivery of training for both users and staff.
  • Experience in an operational and customer-focused environment is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service for internal and external stakeholders
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience of accounting principles, Federal Reserve Financial Services and AS5/COSO controls and procedures is desired.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams) and experience generating reports and queries from databases is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and interpersonal.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the use of confidential or sensitive information pertaining to external and internal customers and operations.
  • Ability to collaborate across Reserve Banks and National Business Lines for coordination and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate merger and de novo activities by reviewing documentation for accuracy, facilitating service changes, organizing meetings between customers and internal operations teams/Federal Reserve business lines, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Provide timely analytical assistance to Financial Institutions and Federal Reserve/federal agency personnel regarding operational, financial, accounting, and business matters.
  • Handle the collection, preparation, analysis, and tracking of customer service requests for new Federal Reserve services or changes to existing services.
  • Contribute analytical expertise to customer relationship projects supporting Federal Reserve or federal agency initiatives, collaborating across Federal Reserve business areas and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Participate and support the analysis and enhancement of business functions and operational processes, including coordination of testing, training and implementation efforts.
  • Create and update procedures, define processes, and deliver training to both external users and internal staff.
  • Assist with or lead the preparation of communications, including proposals, reports, and presentations.
  • Monitor and verify adherence to policies, procedures and standards for new and existing account and service setup.
  • Track quality measures, identify trends, and prepare performance metrics reports aligned with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Participate in departmental risk identification activities, conduct COSO testing and documentation, and complete security assurance risk management processes.
