As a Business Analyst III, you’ll partner with experts across the organization to uncover hidden processes, drive clarity through operations system thinking, and build a foundation of trusted knowledge that powers onboarding, training, and operational excellence. This role will partner with experts to uncover undocumented processes, partner with instructional designers and trainers to apply systems thinking for clarity and context, and curate a centralized repository of trusted knowledge assets. This foundation powers onboarding, training, and operational readiness, and ensuring continuity. The Business Analyst III works to proactively and creatively solve for business needs through broad cross-functional collaboration. Responsible for eliciting, documenting, and defining business requirements, contributing to process development, and articulating the importance of the work within the broader value stream for moderately complex projects and/or initiatives with visible impact to the business and / or systems. This role leverages experience in influencing business decisions to deliver key insights and optimize solutions that have a visible impact to the business.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of work experience (Required).
  • Three (3) years of analytical experience in a technical or business environment, including at least 2 years performing business analysis functions (gathering business requirements, documenting process/data flows, and performing gap analyses) (Required).
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Strong communication & organization skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build rapport with SMEs.
  • Ability to think critically and apply systems thinking.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries.
  • Experience in content strategy, technical writing, or knowledge management.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
  • Background in business analysis or process improvement.
  • Experience with tools such as SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Translate ambiguous business needs into solid business context and functional requirements for small to large projects with moderate complexity.
  • Effectively elicit information to create concise, organized Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRD) using standard, industry recognized tools and best practices.
  • Manage requirements across the lifecycle of a project to ensure end user satisfaction, business stakeholder buy-in, and scope integrity.
  • Identify opportunities and contribute recommendations based on analysis of requirements and future impacts.
  • Partner with SMEs to extract undocumented knowledge (e.g. structured interview and working sessions) as needed to ensure successful implementation and ongoing business and / or systems support when appropriate.
  • Create detailed Use Cases, User Stories and other documents to illustrate business needs.
  • Facilitate meetings and Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions in a positive way to drive cross-functional stakeholders to reach agreements and effective solutions. Meetings may include leadership.
  • Conduct research and interviews subject matter experts to create "As-is" and "To-be" process flows.
  • Apply critical thinking to evaluate cross functional dependencies, including upstream and downstream impacts.
  • Contribute to enhancements of Business Analysis best practices and suggestions for improvements.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to convert content into digestible formats.
  • Create business facing test scenarios, test scripts/cases, and mockups of data necessary to conduct testing.
  • Create the traceability between requirements and scenarios to ensure business requirements are met.
  • May monitor and report on testing activity and results.
  • Consult with others in the development of appropriate training materials to support the needs of functional areas.
  • Translate complex information into clear, structured content for use in training, onboarding, and documentation.
  • May provide support to other entry and junior level Business Analysts.
  • May investigate and research system problems and enhancements, working collaboratively with IT and business stakeholders to identify options and provide business and / or technical solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
