About The Position

The Business Analyst leads the design and building of IT systems and processes to support Group Event Management travel registration websites, and coordinates with 3rd party vendors to integrate and operate on-site technology. The Business Analyst elicits and documents business and system requirements, analyzes data, conceives and documents acceptance criteria, tests software and processes and negotiates realistic expectations. Responsibilities include the following: writing programming specifications, developing process definitions, creating detailed implementation and operation plans, and monitoring a program’s progress as well as collaborating in the research and analysis of new solutions for both internal and external customer needs. In addition, the Business Analyst is responsible for managing the systems development of their assigned programs, including setting deadlines, controlling scope, and monitoring and communicating status. The Business Analyst will train assigned Group Event Management team members on these specific programs when applicable and mentor other roles in managing the technical aspects of a program. The Business Analyst supports the operation of Group Event Management travel registration websites by retrieving data for reports, troubleshooting issues and acting as the subject matter expert of the program and supporting systems. The Business Analyst supports the sales team by determining client requirements, negotiating and documenting scope, coordinating the estimating of development efforts and participating in presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related major or comparable work experience.
  • Minimum six years experience in a service industry in Business Analyst, Software Developer or Quality Assurance Analyst roles.
  • Minimum six years demonstrated knowledge in client server and web-based business applications.
  • Minimum six years experience using data analysis techniques to determine business requirements and design information systems.
  • Minimum three years of experience leading or mentoring technology teams.
  • Minimum three years of experience accessing and developing with relational databases.
  • Minimum six years of experience with technical writing to produce process and specification documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills demonstrated in the effective balancing of multiple projects within required time frames.
  • Ability to travel to client locations and sales office on a limited basis (up to approximately one 3-day trip per month).
  • Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers’ needs in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
