About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Business Analyst for a hybrid contract-to-hire role with a Financial Services Organization in New York, NY. This 6-month contract position focuses on driving user adoption and platform execution across enterprise data platforms. The role involves gathering requirements, analyzing data, and collaborating with delivery teams. The ideal candidate will possess a product mindset, understand user needs, help shape platform direction, and measure business value. This cross-platform role requires close collaboration with Cloud, Data Warehouse, Platform Engineering, Data Science, and BI & Analytics teams to translate user feedback into platform enhancements, influence roadmaps, and improve adoption through data-driven insights. A hands-on approach with data, understanding its sourcing, transformation, maintenance, and delivery, is crucial for supporting business outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in product management, business analysis, data platform management, or related discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Financial services or asset management industry experience is required
  • Strong hands-on SQL experience and the ability to work directly with data
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across business and technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured requirements, user stories, and delivery-ready product artifacts
  • Proven experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving outcomes without direct authority

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Agile environments proficiency in sprint-based, iterative delivery models and Agile tooling (e.g. Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence)
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or equivalent technologies is preferred
  • Experience with data quality tools and master data domains (client, security, issuer, legal entity data) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the core analytical partner for the delivery teams by gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing requirements with clear assessments of effort and business impact
  • Work hands-on with data: understanding data architecture, ingestion patterns, transformation logic, storage models, and distribution to downstream consumers
  • Own and manage the product backlog for enterprise data platforms, writing clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams (developers, quality assurance, and production support) while ensuring execution stays aligned with user needs
  • Engage stakeholders across technology, business, and operations to surface priorities and drive platform adoption
  • Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and convey complex data and technical concepts to stakeholders and leadership
  • Operate within an Agile development framework by managing backlogs, writing user stories, participating in sprint ceremonies, and driving iterative delivery
