About The Position

The Business Analyst – Data Platform & Analytics serves as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, helping translate business needs into clear, actionable, and testable requirements. The role supports enterprise data, analytics, reporting, and technology initiatives from initial intake and discovery through development, user acceptance testing, implementation, and adoption. This position is accountable for requirements quality, backlog readiness, stakeholder communication, and business validation throughout the delivery lifecycle. The Business Analyst works closely with Product Owners, business leaders, data engineers, BI developers, architects, QA resources, and other technology teams to ensure solutions address the intended business problem and deliver measurable value. The role is expected to understand the business process and data context sufficiently to challenge ambiguity, identify gaps, and reduce rework while leaving technical architecture and implementation decisions to the appropriate technical teams.

Requirements

3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Data Product Analyst, or similar role supporting technology, data, analytics, or enterprise application delivery.
Demonstrated experience eliciting and documenting requirements, decomposing business needs into actionable user stories, and defining clear acceptance criteria.
Hands-on experience managing or maintaining work in Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or comparable Agile delivery tools.
Experience participating in Agile delivery processes and working collaboratively with Product Owners, developers, QA resources, technical leads, and business stakeholders.
Experience coordinating UAT, validating delivered functionality against business requirements, and tracking issues through resolution.
Working knowledge of SQL and/or reporting tools sufficient to perform data validation, reconciliation, profiling, or troubleshooting.
Ability to understand business processes and work with data originating from enterprise applications such as SAP, Salesforce, Workday, ERP, CRM, or similar source systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication for business, technical, and leadership audiences.
Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead discovery sessions, ask effective follow-up questions, manage differing viewpoints, and drive clarity and alignment.
Strong ownership and accountability mindset with the ability to follow work through the complete delivery lifecycle rather than stopping at requirements handoff.
Analytical and critical-thinking skills with the curiosity to understand why a request exists, challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and connect requirements to business outcomes.
Ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining accurate priorities, commitments, status, and documentation.
Comfort working in an environment with changing priorities and ambiguity while communicating impacts and tradeoffs promptly.
Attention to detail and commitment to complete, validated requirements and accurate work-item status.
Ability to build trust and productive partnerships with stakeholders and technical teams while maintaining appropriate role boundaries.
Vision, hearing, speech, and movements require the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to view a computer screen and sit for extended periods.
Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Clinical, specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical distribution, patient services, healthcare, or related life-sciences experience is strongly preferred but not required.
Experience supporting business domains such as sales, operations, supply chain, finance, customer service, or commercial functions.
Experience supporting enterprise reporting, Power BI, self-service analytics, data platforms, or data engineering initiatives.
Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms and concepts such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, data lakes, medallion architecture, semantic models, ELT/ETL, batch and streaming data, and data governance.
Exposure to data integration technologies such as Azure Data Factory, dbt, Fivetran, Informatica, or similar tools; hands-on development experience is not required.
ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, PMI-PBA, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or related Business Analysis/Agile certifications are a plus but not required.
The employee may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., kneel, and bend.
Must have the ability to travel occasionally.
Working conditions may include normal office and warehouse settings.
After-hours or weekend support may be required as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

Own assigned requests and initiatives from intake through implementation, maintaining visibility into requirements, status, dependencies, risks, UAT readiness, and business acceptance.
Lead discovery and requirements sessions with business stakeholders to understand current-state processes, business problems, desired outcomes, business rules, KPIs, reporting needs, and future-state requirements.
Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and maintain functional and business requirements; translate those requirements into well-structured Jira epics, features, user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria as appropriate.
Maintain high-quality, delivery-ready backlog items by ensuring scope, requirements, acceptance criteria, dependencies, supporting documentation, and business context are sufficiently defined before development begins.
Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders on backlog refinement and prioritization, helping ensure work is sequenced according to business value, readiness, dependencies, and delivery constraints.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups as needed, sprint reviews, and retrospectives; provide timely clarification to delivery teams during execution.
Use Jira and Confluence as core delivery and documentation tools, maintaining accurate work-item status, requirements, decisions, dependencies, risks, and supporting artifacts throughout the lifecycle.
Coordinate and drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test readiness, business-user coordination, validation of acceptance criteria, defect follow-up, and confirmation of business acceptance prior to production release.
Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, architects, QA, and other technical resources to ensure shared understanding of business intent while avoiding ownership of technical architecture or implementation decisions.
Perform data analysis, profiling, reconciliation, and validation using SQL and reporting tools to support requirements discovery, QA, troubleshooting, and UAT where appropriate.
Develop and maintain process flows, business rules, KPI definitions, data mappings, data dictionaries, requirements traceability, training materials, FAQs, and other documentation appropriate to the initiative.
Provide clear and accurate status communication to stakeholders and leadership, proactively escalating blockers, requirement gaps, scope concerns, dependencies, or delivery risks.
Support production issue triage and enhancement intake by helping document business impact, expected behavior, reproduction details, and acceptance criteria for remediation.
Build productive working relationships across business and technical teams, facilitate resolution of conflicting requirements, and help drive decisions when ambiguity or competing priorities exist.
Support solution adoption through stakeholder communication, demonstrations, documentation, training, and post-implementation feedback.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and applicable laws.
