Reporting to the Senior Analyst, the Business Analyst Co-op Student will assist in performing audits on process compliance within the various operations of the Utilities business unit. This is a co-op position located in Etobicoke, Head Office, with a duration of 12-16 months.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work well within a team environment as well as individually
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to multi-task
  • Ability to adhere to project schedules and meet deadlines
  • Microsoft Office proficient – with strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the confidence and ability to work with all levels of staff and management within a large organization
  • Methodical and thorough approach to diagnosing problems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with SAP is preferred
  • Experience in the utilities industry an asset

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document current business processes
  • Observe and report deviations from standard operating procedures
  • Determine root causes for deviations and perform impact analyses
  • Present safety and utilization metrics on weekly equipment calls to operations teams
  • Create process documentation, including flowcharts and standard operating procedures
  • Identify improvement opportunities; develop and present recommendations to management and monitor their implementation
  • Determine what processes are being followed and if purported benefits have been realized
  • Work with management to develop solutions and provide value-added services for Utilities’ dynamic operational environment
