About The Position

This is an 8-12 month fixed-term co-op position starting in June 2026, for an existing position vacancy. The role is within the Information Technology team in Toronto, Canada. The Co-op Student will work directly with the IT Director and the technology leadership team. This role is ideal for a student with an engineering foundation and a business mindset who enjoys turning complex technical information into clear business recommendations and creating executive-ready materials. The role will support the IT leadership team in preparing high-quality steering committee materials, transforming updates into discussion-starters and decision-ready options. The role will also build and maintain the IT Office knowledge repository.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Engineering (e.g., Process, Chemical, Industrial Engineering), with a strong business orientation, or pursuing a graduate degree such as an MBA.
  • Demonstrated business exposure through coursework or experience (e.g., business electives, internships, student consulting, entrepreneurship, or case competitions).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to structure ambiguous concepts and produce clear narrative and outputs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages to executive audiences both in terms of content and format.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams & Copilot); comfort creating high-quality slides and concise written summaries.
  • Interest in exploring how AI-based tools can be used to augment and speed up knowledge collection and presentation.
  • Professional discretion and integrity when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Must be lawfully able to work for the Company in the country where the role is located. The Company does not provide immigration, work permit, or permanent residence sponsorship or assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build an Office of IT Knowledge Repository, collecting and organizing business data and markets insight in a way that is easy to consume by the IT Leadership team.
  • Prepare executive-ready materials for the IT and key governance forums (briefing notes, steering committee packs, agendas, decision memos, meeting summaries, and follow-up action logs).
  • Build and maintain lightweight reporting (dashboards, KPI summaries, status reports) using Excel/Power BI/PowerPoint/Copilot and other Microsoft 365 and AI tools.
  • Help coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (IT, Finance, Operations, Security, vendors) to ensure timely decisions and closure on actions from governance forums.
  • Draft and refine clear stakeholder communications for senior audiences (one-page updates, slides, FAQs, talking points). Audiences include the company's Executive Committee, Audits & Risk Committee, Business Process Working Groups, IT Architecture & Procurement Group and other executive forums.
