About The Position

Business Analyst (Contract) – Advanced Data Analytics Location: New York, NY (hybrid/in-office at least 3 days per week) Our client is a leading independent financial advisory firm serving boards, management teams, and shareholders on major strategic decisions. It also provides capital-raising, equity services, and wealth management through a global office network.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst on complex cross-functional initiatives in financial services
• Front-office exposure in investment banking, capital markets, private equity, venture capital, or hedge funds
• Experience supporting AI, ML, or data science products
• Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead UAT planning, testing coordination, issue triage, and resolution
• Strong communication skills across technical teams, bankers, and senior executives
• Proactive, independent, and solutions-oriented approach in fast-moving environments
• Ability to assess product usability and provide actionable UX feedback
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and practical use cases
• Business requirements elicitation and documentation
• Stakeholder management across business and technical teams
• UAT planning, coordination, and issue resolution
• Communication and presentation skills across multiple seniority levels
• Analytical thinking with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset

Nice To Haves

• Experience with enterprise data platforms, lakehouses, BI modernization, or data governance
• Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms
• Experience with BI/data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
• Ability to analyze data using SQL or Python

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and translate business needs into clear requirements for AI, ML, and analytics products
• Act as the bridge between technical teams and front-office stakeholders to keep delivery aligned
• Own UAT planning and execution, including test plans, issue triage, and closure
• Manage and maintain the firm's data demand intake pipeline and demand register
• Track and communicate demand status, data readiness, and support governance efforts as needed
