[2026 - 2027] Bus Monitor (starting $18 per hour)
About The Position
As an KIPP ENC school bus monitor, you will comply with all NC School Bus Safety laws in accordance with the NC Department of Transportation. The role involves upholding the mission and vision of KIPP ENC by providing a safe, healthy, consistent, positive, and caring environment for children and staff, fostering a positive student culture, and ensuring happy and healthy students and parents. Key responsibilities include reporting to work daily and on time, assisting the bus driver in maintaining discipline and monitoring students while the bus is in operation, ensuring seat belts, harnesses, and wheelchair clamps are secured, assisting with the safe loading and unloading of students, coordinating seating for pre-kindergarten students, and maintaining current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures. The position also requires establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Requirements
- Have a High School diploma or GED Certificate
- Able to follow oral and written directions
- Knowledge of safe practices concerning school bus transportation
- Ability to communicate effectively

- Maintain current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
