The Bus Monitor is responsible for the safety and supervision of children during transportation. This includes ensuring children are properly secured, monitoring them throughout the journey, and following all transportation policies and procedures for loading and unloading. The role also involves assisting the Bus Driver during emergencies, maintaining a sanitary vehicle, implementing bus rules, and providing educational activities. The Bus Monitor acts as a liaison between parents and center staff, provides child engagement through activities, and ensures children are released to the correct individuals. Additionally, the position may involve providing short-term relief to classroom staff, offering interpretation services, assisting with various center duties if staff are absent, cleaning and maintaining the building and playground, transporting and supervising children and parents during meetings and field trips, participating in training for children with disabilities, assisting with recruitment, and providing support to other locations. The role requires attending staff meetings and trainings and performing other assigned duties.
