The Bus Monitor will ride buses and help the driver ensure the safe and orderly transportation of students with disabilities. This role requires the ability to follow verbal instructions, communicate effectively, and operate safety and adaptive equipment. The Bus Monitor will be responsible for supervising students, managing their behavior, and communicating with teachers and parents. Familiarity with bus routes and schedules is also necessary, along with the ability to follow emergency procedures and administer first aid if needed. The role involves working irregular hours and maintaining emotional control under stress, with frequent walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling, as well as moderate lifting and carrying. The working environment includes exposure to outside elements, vehicles, machinery, extreme temperatures, and vehicle fumes.
