About The Position

This position is considered Seasonal Full-Time, with an approximate start date in March/April and running through December, including some downtime during the off-peak period. The role involves assisting the Bus Driver in maintaining discipline and monitoring children on the bus, assisting with documentation and record-keeping, and ensuring the safe loading and unloading of children. Additionally, the position is responsible for maintaining the grounds, performing cleaning and minor maintenance on center facilities, grounds, playground equipment, and buses, and assisting with special events and snow removal. Communication with staff and parents regarding child behavior and medical issues is also a key aspect of the role, as is maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all safety practices.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
  • Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
  • Must pass physical examination and required background checks, including state day care clearance
  • Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis
  • Must obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to operate custodial equipment.
  • Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment and use supplies.

  • Infant/Toddler and Preschool Child Development Associate credential (CDA)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Bus Driver in maintaining discipline on the bus.
  • Assist and monitor children while bus is in operation.
  • Assist Bus Driver in documentation of children’s information, and record keeping.
  • Assist parents and center personnel with safe loading and unloading of children.
  • Coordinate seating of children as required by State Transportation guidelines.
  • Maintain grounds: pick up litter and trash, mow grass, weed planting areas, and irrigate.
  • Perform cleaning and minor maintenance on center facilities, grounds and playground equipment.
  • Perform cleaning and minor maintenance on busses.
  • Assist in moving and setting up furniture and equipment.
  • Set up/clean up after special events.
  • Perform snow removal duties.
  • Communicate with Teacher Aides, Teachers, and parents concerning child behavior and medical problems.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records.
  • Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with CC Idaho policies, procedures, and safety practice.
