About The Position
The Bus Aide will assist in providing safe transportation for students, ensuring they can fully benefit from the district's curriculum and extracurricular programs. This role involves maintaining student conduct, assisting students with boarding and disembarking the bus, and ensuring the overall safety and good behavior of students on the bus.
Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma
- Previous job experience with children preferred
- Must have transportation to and from the bus stop
Responsibilities
- Meets all professional conduct standards as set by MS Educator Code of Ethics Standards of Conduct
- Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus
- Assists young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus
- Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion
- Provides written records of violations of the student code to the transportation supervisor
- Collects and turns over to the Director of Transportation those personal items left on the bus by students
- Ensures the safety and good behavior on the bus of an individual student, if assigned to supervise
- Follow all board policies and procedures
- Maintain regular attendance and is punctual
- Promote the district’s vision, mission, and goals
- Perform any other duties as outlined by the Director of Transportation
