About The Position

CUSD 303 is seeking a Bus Mechanic for the 26-27 school year. This role requires a qualified mechanic with a minimum of three (3) years of experience, demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and ability to independently perform and complete repairs within their assigned trade or area of responsibility. The successful candidate must be in good physical condition and pass a State Required Physical Exam. Tasks involve the ability to exert physical effort in heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials up to 50 pounds independently. The mechanic must maintain a valid Illinois Driver's License and obtain and maintain all required certifications and training relevant to the position, as deemed necessary by the Executive Director of Facilities. Effective communication with staff, supervisors, vendors, and building occupants is essential, providing clear and professional information both verbally and in writing.
