This position provides bus transportation to colleagues, non-colleagues, faculty, students, patients and visitors on and off campus. The role also ensures a safe culture on the bus and adherence to all traffic rules. Responsibilities include performing vehicle inspections, maintaining bus cleanliness, fueling buses, logging passenger counts, and assisting disabled passengers. The driver is responsible for the timeliness of routes and flexibility of the shuttle schedule, maintaining an acceptable DMV record, and courteously assisting passengers with questions and campus directions. The driver will also communicate any issues on campus, such as suspicious persons or parking machine problems, and assist handicapped individuals using the lift or vehicle access. The role requires assisting all regional campuses including LUMC, MacNeal, and Gottlieb, and helping with parking needs. Other duties may be assigned by the Regional Manager of Parking Services.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Driver’s License
1-2 years or related experience
Have and maintain an acceptable DMV record.

Nice To Haves

CDL Class C with Passenger Endorsement
3-5 years of related experience

Responsibilities

Provide bus transportation to colleagues, non-colleagues, faculty, students, patients and visitors on and off campus.
Ensure a safe culture on the bus and obey all traffic rules on and off campus.
Perform vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness of the bus interiors, fueling of buses, logging passenger counts, and assisting disabled passengers.
Be responsible for the timeliness of the routes and flexibility of shuttle schedule.
Maintain an acceptable DMV record.
Courteously assist colleagues, visitors, patients, students, and faculty by answering any questions they may have, and offer campus directions for all that may ask.
Communicate any issues on campus, such as, suspicious persons, parking machine issues, or any regulatory needs.
Assist handicapped individuals by using the lift, or assistance into the vehicles.
Be able to assist all regional campuses including LUMC, MacNeal, and Gottlieb.
Assist colleagues, visitors, patients, and faculty with any parking needs.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Regional Manager of Parking Services.
