About The Position

The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) & Carolina Preparatory Academy (CPA) seeks a part-time Bus Driver to start immediately. This position is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and on-time transportation of students between our two campuses on a daily basis. This position will also provide transportation for scheduled field trips throughout the year and ensure buses are clean and in good working order. Established in 1974, The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) & Carolina Preparatory Academy (Carolina Prep) is a vibrant and exceptional independent Montessori and International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in the Triangle area serving 400+ students aged 15 months through 18 years. The school is committed to the intellectual, ethical, and personal development of our students. Our Montessori programs for Toddler - Upper Elementary students (15 months - grade 6) are located on our beautifully designed Lead Mine Campus, situated on 10 acres in North Raleigh, comprising five buildings in a child-centered, village-like setting surrounded by wetlands and protected forest. Our International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma programmes for Middle and High School students (grades 6 - 12) are housed on an expansive 40-acre wooded campus on our Brier Creek Campus in Durham. Requirements

  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must possess a CDL with a P and S endorsement.
  • Must meet medical qualifications applicable to commercial drivers as set by the NC General Statute.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport students between campuses and to/from field trip locations.
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and positive environment for students.
  • Communicate effectively, and develop and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure buses are in good, clean, and safe working order.
  • Clean and refuel buses as needed.
  • Report mechanical issues and transport buses to/from service facilities as needed.
  • Drive safely, exercise good judgment, and adhere to all NC traffic laws.
  • Must be reliable and able to work flexible hours based on school needs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of School or Director of Technology & Operations
