About The Position

The Bus Driver for the School Age Child Care program at the Southern Tier Community Center, will safely transport youth. Serving with Compassion, Creativity, and Consistency.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED required
• 2 years of experience driving a school bus or commercial vehicle required
• Ability to relate and interact with youth and families in a positive manner required
• Commercial Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required
• Pass DOT Physical required

Responsibilities

• Obey all traffic laws to ensure students arrive at their destination safely
• Always maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus
• Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety
• Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops
• Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals and mechanical equipment
• Follow the Office of Children and Families (OCFS) Transportation Policy of Children for School Aged Child Care
