About The Position
The bus driver provides a safe, reliable transportation service for residents of the site. This role also involves assisting with life enrichment activities during days with minimal driving needs, including leading programs for seniors and directing volunteers.
Requirements
- Excellent driving record.
- Current driver’s license
- Compliance with DOT requirements including drug testing.
- Experience working with seniors.
- CPR/First Aid certified or willingness to complete.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely transportation to and from scheduled outings for residents.
- Plan routes for outing destinations.
- Maintain bus systems prior to all excursions.
- Demonstrate professional and courteous conduct with all customers (residents, family members, visitors, physicians, co-workers, etc.).
- Assist supervisory staff with the practical orientation/training of employees.
- Maintain CPR/First Aid certifications.
- Understand and adhere to DOT alcohol and controlled substances policy.
- Abide by all Colorado traffic laws and practice safe and defensive driving techniques.
- Maintain the bus interior and exterior and report maintenance in a timely manner.
- During days with minimal drives, assist with facilitating/leading each event or program.
- Lead small, large, and one-on-one activity programs with seniors.
- Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments to support resident programming.
- Other duties as assigned.
