About The Position

Safely operate a facility-owned bus or van in accordance with traffic laws and organizational policies. Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices. Transport residents to scheduled appointments, outings, and events in a timely and efficient manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle at all times. Monitor and support the comfort and safety of residents during transit. Maintain accurate transportation logs and resident attendance records. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, families, and other departments regarding resident transportation needs. Provide exceptional customer service with empathy and respect for elderly and disabled individuals.

Requirements

  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, reliability, and a caring attitude toward elderly residents.
  • Ability to safely operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policy
  • Maintain professionalism
  • Weight to be lifted or forced up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crouch, reach, and pull.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience transporting seniors or working in a healthcare or long-term care environment is a plus.
