About The Position

Seeking a Bus Driver for the 2026-2027 school year to ensure the safe and timely transportation of students. This role involves adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and district policies while maintaining student discipline and bus cleanliness.

Requirements

Possess or be able to obtain a valid license to drive a school bus, which includes Class B CDL with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brakes.
Possess or obtain an Oklahoma SDE school bus driver Certification by attending the school bus driver training (if necessary).
Meet such additional health and age requirements as the board may require.

Responsibilities

Obeys all traffic laws.
Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
Reports undisciplined students to the building administrator.
Keeps assigned bus clean.
Keeps to assigned schedule.
Checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
Discharges students only at authorized stops.
Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
Transports only authorized students.
Reports all accidents to the Director and the Police, and completes required reports.
Enforces regulations against smoking, chewing tobacco, eating, or drinking on the bus.
Enforces bus riding regulations established by the Director or the state.
Abides by all district policies and state and federal laws.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
