About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Erie is looking to hire a Part-time Bus Driver for their childcare programs at the Eastside YMCA location. This role involves transporting school bus passengers between assigned stops and schools according to specified routes, ensuring safe transportation while loading and unloading passengers. The driver will act as a role model for children, instruct passengers in rider safety, and maintain appropriate passenger management. Responsibilities also include keeping route schedules, performing pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, checking fluid levels, fueling the bus safely, and ensuring all DOT mandated records are up to date and accurate. Compliance with PA CDL S endorsement license, YMCA standards, and government regulations is required.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania CDL license with current S endorsement
Ability to pass the DOT mandated physical examination, annually
Must have a safe driving record
Must pass criminal and child abuse clearances
Be drug and alcohol free when driving, and not consume any alcoholic beverages within 8 hours prior to operating a school bus
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Basic knowledge of Erie City and Erie County streets

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with PA CDL S endorsement license and YMCA standards and government regulations.
