About The Position

Non-CDL Bus Driver – Childcare Center Southwest Washington Learning Center (SWLC) is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Bus Driver to transport school-age children to and from local Vancouver schools. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and values a consistent, part-time schedule. Schedule Options: Morning Route: 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Afternoon Route: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Applicants may apply for one or both shifts. Key Responsibilities: Safely transport children to and from designated Vancouver schools using a 15-passenger bus Ensure children are properly supervised during loading, transport, and unloading Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections Maintain accurate attendance and transportation logs Communicate professionally with staff, families, and school personnel Follow all Washington State and center safety policies and procedures What Sets You Apart: You prioritize safety above all else and take pride in a well-run route You are dependable, punctual, and consistent You enjoy interacting with children in a positive and respectful manner You stay calm and attentive in all driving and supervision situations You communicate clearly and professionally with both children and adults If you’re looking for a meaningful, part-time role with a consistent schedule and the opportunity to support children and families in your community, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements

  • Must meet Washington State requirements for transporting children in a childcare setting (non-CDL 15-passenger vehicle)
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum age of 21 (per childcare transportation standards)
  • Ability to pass DCYF background check and meet all pre-service requirements (including TB test and required trainings)
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism
  • Ability to supervise children appropriately during transport

Responsibilities
