About The Position

This position requires a CDL with S & P endorsements. This person will be responsible for transporting students from the Viera campus to and from CCA, mission trip drop offs, and other church sponsored activities as needed for backup. Position will include duties for Maintenance and Custodial support to complete full-time hours.

Requirements

  • CDL with S & P endorsements
  • Must pass physical exam paid for by Calvary Chapel Fellowship of Melbourne
  • Ability to remain calm in all situations
  • Work respectfully with everyone and handle conflict according to Matthew 18
  • Keep all information (student, parent, staff) confidential
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects correctly
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to solve problems

Responsibilities

  • Follow safe driving practices, enforcing safety rules in place for passengers of vehicle
  • Check bus for safety before driving and know emergency protocol
  • Greet students as they enter
  • Maintain excellent driving record
  • Available hours during weekends and evenings
  • Assure the optimal functioning of building systems including electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, elevators, etc.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude to perform building repairs such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, air conditioners
  • Participate in the set-up/teardown of rooms and equipment relating to church and individual ministry events
  • Maintain the lawn irrigation system
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (emergency generator, golf carts, forklift, light cart, high lift, gator tractor, etc.)
  • Complete work requests and documenting maintenance records
  • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and read wiring schematics
  • Operate machinery after a period of training
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and proper order of the facilities by keeping campus clean and in good sanitary condition
  • Safely use and climb ladders
  • Respond to custodial emergency situations as effectively and as promptly as the situation requires
  • Take proper care of and do routine maintenance on custodial equipment
  • Notify Maintenance Dept of need for repairs in writing
