About The Position
The Part-Time Bus Delivery Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of buses from manufacturing or maintenance facilities to designated locations across Virginia. This position requires a dependable and safety-conscious individual who can operate large vehicles responsibly while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The driver will be responsible for conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly. Effective communication with dispatchers and facility personnel is essential to coordinate delivery schedules and address any unforeseen challenges during transit. Ultimately, this role contributes to the seamless operation of the transportation network by delivering buses efficiently and maintaining high standards of professionalism and safety.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class being operated with P and S endorsement.
- Clean driving record with no recent major violations or accidents.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Proven experience operating large vehicles safely, preferably buses or similar commercial vehicles.
- Availability to work part-time hours with flexibility to meet delivery schedules.
- Safe vehicle operation and adherence to traffic laws.
- Pre-trip inspection skills to identify and report mechanical issues early.
- Communication skills to coordinate with dispatch and delivery points.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential mechanical issues.

Responsibilities
- Operate buses to deliver them safely from manufacturing or maintenance sites to specified destinations within assigned routes.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure buses are in optimal condition and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies during all driving activities.
- Coordinate with dispatch and facility staff to confirm delivery schedules, routes, and any special instructions or requirements.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and any required documentation related to the transportation of buses.
