About The Position

The Burkle Technician Assistant will be responsible for various tasks supporting the Burkle line operations. This includes material handling, quality inspections, equipment assistance, and general housekeeping. The role requires adherence to safety standards, documentation, and the ability to learn and operate specific systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math.
  • Must be familiar with or willing to learn current computer systems and software.
  • Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained.
  • Must be able to safely operate the battery changing station equipment.
  • Must be able to mount and dismount lift truck up to 100 times a day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

  • Moving materials from manufacturing lines or storage locations to WIP areas or other assigned areas.
  • Completing daily lift truck check sheets.
  • Achieving set quality standards.
  • Documenting process settings in the computer.
  • Printing, relocating, and issuing pallets using USF2 system.
  • Assisting Burkle technicians manage the chemical tank farm, including drums and totes.
  • Safely operating a crane for the Hoover Tank Farm to transport drums of primer.
  • Restocking totes of topcoat chemistry for the Burkle mezzanine.
  • Performing Black Box Inspections for each pallet at the outfeed of Burkle line (visual quality inspections of products for defects and grading).
  • Starting and stopping the Burkle line.
  • Assisting Burkle technicians on the infeed and/or outfeed conveyors during minor jams or general maintenance.
  • Assisting Burkle technicians change out/troubleshoot robot suction cups when needed.
  • Assisting with performing inventory cycle counts as needed.
  • Assisting in general housekeeping tasks (cleaning UV lamps, disposal of old UV lamps, blow out underneath ovens and conveyors, clean sink station).
  • Assisting Burkle Technicians with operation of Burkle equipment and Quality Tools.
  • Cleaning and drying Burkle applicator and doctor rolls when needed.
  • Operating the conveyor system for the Burkle line.
  • Cross-training to fill in as a Burkle tech as needed.
  • Operating floor sweeper when needed.
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly work space.
  • Maintaining production lines with the correct materials.
  • Restocking all the PPE for the Burkle Line (rags, hand changing towels, gloves, yellow suits, face shields, etc.).
  • Safely cutting and preparing coupons for the Burkle Technicians when needed.
  • Removing, collecting, and properly disposing of shipping materials including pallets, straps, cardboard, and bolsters.
  • Changing lift truck or other PIT batteries as needed.
  • Working normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Working overtime as required.
  • Performing the duties of other LTOs when necessary.
  • Safely completing other assigned duties as needed.
