About The Position

The Bunker Marketer IV is responsible for creating value through deal making, optimizing positions, modernizing bunker procurement, and enhancing profitability. The Bunker Marketer is accountable for value creation based on the strategic direction of the larger Fuel Oil book through the purchasing of Bunkers for Phillips 66 fleet and sales of Bunkers to third parties. The Bunker Marketer will be active in both the physical wholesale and retail markets.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3 or more years of relevant commercial, trading, or energy‑market experience that prepares you to handle complex situations independently
  • Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work after hours as required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior bunker marketer or bunker trading experience
  • Prior waterborne scheduling experience
  • Prior fuel blending experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive profitability across all Bunker operations
  • Work with Marine to proactively optimize global fleet and direct Bunker procurement
  • Create and execute a profitable strategy for Bunkers with access to both the wholesale and retail markets
  • Identify appropriate blending components and finished grades to manage spot and forward bunker opportunities
  • Identify and develop speculative bunker fuel oil and component trading opportunities
  • Share market intelligence across regions and trading disciplines.
  • Spearhead new market entry
  • Evaluate daily P&L and risk positions, assess market exposure, and apply sound economic reasoning to guide decisions and maintain compliance with trading policies
  • Oversee contract compliance and ensure commercial activities align with required standards and performance expectations
  • Contribute to business planning by assessing market trends, forecasting opportunities, and informing strategies that support growth and competitive positioning
  • Model commercial scenarios, support asset and portfolio optimization efforts, and deliver insights that help teams respond quickly to changing conditions
  • Collaborate across internal teams to solve complex challenges, share market intelligence, and provide customer‑focused commercial solutions
  • Maintain subject‑matter expertise on industry developments and recommend improvements that strengthen commercial performance and decision‑making
