About The Position

The Bun Wrap Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring the proper slicing, handling, and packaging of product according to quality and schedule standards. This position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality, and/or quality. The role involves setting up and adjusting machinery for different products, ensuring correct product coding and labeling, and verifying that products meet quality and packaging standards before shipping. The operator will also replenish packaging supplies, maintain a clean work area, and comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and work rules. This role is on the 4th/Swing Shift.

Requirements

Minimum of six months experience working in an industrial food manufacturing facility required.
Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and record information applicable to the job, safety, and production standards.
Must be able to communicate clearly and distinctly in English in person or via telephone and on paging device.
Range of Motion Required Abilities: pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, climbing, and twisting.
Ability to regular lift 40 to 50 pounds of materials from 1 to 3 feet, and/or from 6 feet and lower to 3 feet.
Ability to load wheeled cart and push/pull up and down slight inclines.
Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and a maximum of 16 hours on a daily basis.
Sensory abilities required: Hearing, vision and smell sufficient to detect malfunctions in all production equipment, evaluate product size, shape, color, appearance, position, and set gauges, dials, rulers, guides, etc.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in an industrial food manufacturing facility, preferably in bread production.
High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Sets up machinery and makes adjustments to accommodate each product according to standards.
Ensures correct product coding and/or labeling of each product.
Ensures that product meets quality and packaging standards prior to shipping.
Replenishes wrap/packaging supplies as needed.
Maintains cleanliness of work area.
Practices and complies with all Company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.
Performs other duties as directed by supervision.
Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).
Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
