About The Position

Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is seeking a Bulldozer Operator with at least three years of experience and the ability to perform finish grading. This is a full-time role reporting to the Site Foreman. Nights and/or weekends may be required in addition to regular day shifts. The position involves operating heavy equipment, specifically a bulldozer, safely and appropriately. Responsibilities include building, leveling, grading, and excavating land surfaces, transporting materials, gathering and loading materials onto trucks, maintaining logs, and performing general labor as assigned. The role may also require assisting the crew with manual labor when not operating equipment.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as a Bulldozer Operator.
• Ability to finish grade.
• Ability to perform manual work.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (vest, steel-toed boots, helmet).
• Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, and to effectively jump, sprint, or throw an object.
• Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
• Ability to quickly move arms and legs.
• Ability to sit for an extended period of time.
• Eye/hand/feet ability and coordination to operate a manual transmission and clutch in both trucks and any other equipment being driven.
• Able to climb stairs/steps and to use handrails to climb and exit the equipment’s raised cab.

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma or equivalent is desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a bulldozer in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Build, level, grade, finish grade, and excavate land surfaces.
• Transport material to and from plant silos.
• Gather and load material from job sites onto and off of trucks, and vice versa.
• Transport material to the appropriate location.
• Gather, load, and transport material using the equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs and records.
• Perform general labor as assigned.
• Assist with the crew in manual labor when not working as an operator.
