About The Position
Combined Metals is a North American processor and distributor of specialty strip and wire. The Bull Block Operator processes wire by preparing and aligning equipment, monitoring material quality, documenting work, and supporting production operations. The role may also involve training new operators and assisting the production manager and other operators as needed.
Responsibilities
- String payoff; point-weld and grind material as applicable.
- Set up die boxes, ensure proper alignment, and use the correct dies and lubricant.
- Measure wire diameter between each draw when setting up.
- Inspect material during processing to maintain quality.
- Complete documentation and submit the work order to the supervisor.
- Train new operators, if necessary.
- Keep the work area neat and properly maintained.
- Use a micrometer properly.
- Operate a crane and a forklift.
- Cut samples for quality control.
- Assist the production manager and other operators as necessary.
