About The Position

The Bulk Supervisor role at Ally Waste involves redistributing trash flow, cleaning up around dumpsters and compactors, and maintaining detailed reports. This position provides guidance, leadership, and direction to the bulk and leveling team, ensuring furniture hauling and cleaning tasks meet required standards. The supervisor will manage and replenish supplies for cleaning tasks and drive a company truck to 15-20 properties daily on an assigned route. Key activities include checking in, taking photos, and documenting bulky items/furniture using a proprietary app, sweeping around dumpsters/compactors, breaking down large boxes, ensuring proper recycling, and moving trash bags to prevent overflowing. The role requires working quickly and efficiently to complete routes before waste haulers arrive and acting as a Waste Leveler for staff coverage. This role also includes supervisory responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining employees, and resolving complaints.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Maintain A Current Valid Driver's License
  • Must meet eligibility of the Company's Insurance Policy
  • Candidates selected for hire may be required to complete a pre‑employment drug screening, consistent with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Compliance with all screening requirements is a condition of employment.
  • Hold a current and valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
  • Be at least 18 years old and have maintained a valid license for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Have no Major Violations (Type I) within the past 36 months.
  • Have no more than 4 Minor Violation points in the past 36 months and no more than 3 Minor Violation points in the past 12 months.
  • Successfully complete a DOT physical examination and obtain the required medical certification prior to performing any driving duties.
  • Successfully pass a background check, conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

  • Waste management/environmental service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, leadership, and direction to the bulk and leveling team.
  • Ensure that furniture hauling and cleaning tasks are completed to the required standards.
  • Manage and replenish supplies needed for cleaning tasks.
  • Using a company truck, drive to 15-20 properties daily on assigned route
  • Check in, take photos, and document bulky items/furniture at each property using our proprietary app
  • Sweep up around each dumpster or compactor
  • Break down large boxes and ensure proper recycling practices are being followed
  • Where necessary, move trash bags from one dumpster to another to eliminate overflowing trash
  • Work quickly and efficiently to complete route before waste hauler arrives
  • Act as a Waste Leveler for staff coverage
  • Other duties as assigned, subject to operational need
  • Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise other employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
