About The Position

Join our El Super Store Operations Team as a Bulk Deli Cheese Clerk - #7 Huntington Park! Under direct supervision, the Bulk Deli Cheese Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position assists customers, cleans, fills, and rotates the cheese and deli displays in the Bulk Deli. The Bulk Deli Cheese Clerk position consists of two different shifts. The morning shift begins the day replenishing product, as instructed by the Bulk Deli Manager or Assistant Bulk Deli Manager, in a specifically assigned area. The Bulk Deli Cheese Clerk is responsible for assisting customers throughout the entire shift. The Bulk Deli Cheese Clerks will also maintain the cleanliness of the department throughout the shift. The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Requirements

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required.
