About The Position

A Bulk Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market maintains, packs, and stocks bulk foods. The role follows the merchandising Bulk plan by packaging and scaling items, filling bulk bins, and preparing, wrapping, and pricing packages accurately and legibly. The clerk rotates product according to code dates and follows the company’s cleaning and sanitation program. The position provides a high level of customer service, keeps the Bulk area clean, and ensures items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented. The clerk assists the Bulk Manager as needed, maintains equipment in safe working condition, and receives, unloads, and stocks merchandise throughout the day as needed. Team members under 18 are restricted from certain tasks, including using knives other than safety cutters or ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors or motor/electronically powered equipment, and prolonged work in coolers or freezers.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a changing flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to vertically and horizontally transfer product weighing up to 50 pounds from heights of 4 to 36 inches, for a distance up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.

Responsibilities

Maintain, pack, and stock bulk foods.
Follow the merchandising Bulk plan.
Package and scale bulk items, fill bulk bins, and prepare, wrap, and accurately and legibly price bulk packages.
Rotate product using code dates.
Follow the company’s cleaning and sanitation program.
Provide a high level of customer service and keep the Bulk area clean.
Ensure Bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented.
Assist the Bulk Manager as needed.
Maintain all equipment in safe working condition.
Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
Adhere to safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
