About The Position

As a Building & Yard Attendant at GS Construction, you keep our facilities running cleanly, safely, and in good repair. You handle everything from building maintenance and minor repairs to keeping the shop and work areas clean and organized, wash bay operations, and outdoor grounds upkeep. This role is well-suited to someone with a hands-on construction or trades background who takes pride in a well-maintained workplace and brings a self-directed, get-it-done approach.

Requirements

Experience in construction, general trades, or a maintenance-related environment.
Ability to perform minor building repairs and general maintenance tasks.
Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Able to follow direction and work efficiently without constant supervision.
Committed to safety, reliability, and working as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating a skid steer is an asset.

Responsibilities

Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks throughout the facility, including carpentry, hardware, fixtures, and general building upkeep. Identify and report maintenance issues before they become larger problems.
Safely operate and maintain the wash bay, cleaning construction equipment, company vehicles, and tools as required.
Operate forklifts to move equipment, parts, and materials safely throughout the shop and yard.
Keep work areas, shop floors, and common spaces clean, organized, and free of hazards throughout the day.
Maintain the exterior grounds including lawn care, snow removal, salting, and general yard tidiness year-round.
Follow all safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and report unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
Take direction from the Shop Foreman and work cooperatively with the broader team to ensure the facility runs smoothly and efficiently.
