About The Position

The function and purpose of the job is the maintenance, repair, construction, remodeling, or alterations of buildings and equipment of facilities that are located within the CFA Jackson Business Office area of operations. The position will be working directly with other maintenance trades staff and may also be directing and supervising prisoner work crews performing tasks related to the Building trades Crew Leader position. The position may also require travel within the region, which could include overnight stays. Requirements

Completion of high school.
Five years of experience in a skilled trade.
One year of experience equivalent to the E9-level in state service.
Not have been convicted of a felony or have felony charges pending.
Not have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony until satisfactory completion of any sentence imposed, including parole or probation.
Attach a resume identifying specific experience and dates of employment (month and year, hours per week).
Attach a copy of an official transcript(s) if education credit is desired.
Provide at least three professional references and their contact information (phone number, address, email address, fax number).
Current MDOC employees must include their current supervisor as one of three professional references.
