About The Position

Performs a variety of maintenance and repair activities of moderate difficulty in the upkeep of County facilities, infrastructure, and grounds. This role involves performing various maintenance activities to maintain or improve working spaces and building safety, receiving and distributing incoming deliveries, picking up and delivering parts and supplies, assisting with plumbing and construction repairs, performing general clean-up work, and assisting with painting in office renovations. The technician must maintain an awareness of proper safety procedures and guidelines and exhibit regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements

High School graduate or GED
Two years of experience in skilled facility maintenance work
Texas Motor Vehicle Operator's License and able to drive a county vehicle
Ability to meet physical demands that serve as the essential functions of the job
Ability to perform manual labor for protracted periods of time
Ability to understand and comply with oral and written instructions
Ability to work effectively with others or independently
Skilled in the safe use of common hand tools and light power equipment used in repair and maintenance work
Ability to safely operate light trucks and/or maintenance equipment
Ability to work safely with and around mechanized equipment

Responsibilities

Performs various maintenance activities to maintain or improve working spaces and building safety
Receives incoming deliveries and distributes items to the appropriate department
Removes or relocates items as needed
Picks up and delivers parts and supplies
Assists in the repair of plumbing problems and construction requirements
Performs general clean-up work
Assists with painting in office renovations
Maintains an awareness of proper safety procedures and guidelines
Regular and predictable attendance
Performs other job related duties as directed
