About The Position

Intervention, Inc., a Colorado non-profit, provides services within the criminal justice system across the state of Colorado including sobriety monitoring (UAs/BAs), electronic monitoring, probation supervision and community corrections. This role ensures the facility and property is maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition, and is in compliance with applicable zoning, building, fire and health codes. The Building Technician II performs routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety and efficient operation. They support, promote and adhere to the mission, values and Code of Conduct of Intervention Inc. This position requires participation as a team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing and problem solving, and acting as a good steward of Company human, financial and capital resources. Regular and predictable attendance is expected, as is attending required trainings and meetings and applying learned skills and knowledge. The role involves driving a personal car to court, jail and/or other sites as required, including in adverse weather, and responding quickly in the event of an emergency, notifying appropriate personnel and following safety protocol. Maintaining current and accurate inventory of repair equipment and supplies, and driving a personal car to pick up supplies as needed are also key functions. The Building Technician II keeps the Program Director up-to-date on the status of the facility and grounds by reporting at least monthly on the facility’s condition, and the status of current, completed and future projects and work orders. They stock supplies daily or as needed in all utility closets and order supplies as necessary, ensuring overall cleanliness and safety of the facility at all times. Scheduling, coordinating and recording monthly fire drills, and contacting vendors, obtaining bids and coordinating contracted work as directed are also responsibilities. The role involves routinely checking equipment, machinery, and building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) to identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance like cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement. Correcting minor and routine mechanical, electrical, plumbing, maintenance and painting issues in buildings and equipment, using various tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure safety, and maintaining accurate logs and documentation of work performed are essential. At least monthly, conducting an inspection of the facility and property to assess current and future needs and to ensure compliance with local and state codes, and responding to and completing work orders, which can be routine tasks or emergency requests, are also part of the job. Inspecting the facility for reported and unreported maintenance issues, recording findings and prioritizing corrections are required. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent credential
Two years related experience and/or training in general maintenance
Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance techniques and standards for a commercial or residential facility.
Computer skills -- Ability to enter data, generate reports and create basic communications from variety of software programs and databases
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to remain calm in and de-escalate stressful situations
Knowledge of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Company staff, stakeholders, and with diverse client base.
Must pass background check and have ability to access state criminal databases
Valid Colorado Driver’s License and proof of insurance

Responsibilities
