About The Position

JLL is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Building System Operator to join their team in Juncos, Puerto Rico. This is a permanent, full-time position with a work schedule that includes rotating shifts, either Monday to Sunday from 6 am to 7 pm or 6 pm to 7 am. The primary objective of this role is to monitor fire system alarms via computer, interpret them, and report to the respective areas.

Requirements

  • Experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing and basic electrical, and fire safety systems.
  • +1 years of experience in computer system management (reports, Excel, monitoring).
  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Knowledge of fire systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operates the fire alarm panel for the area; initiates the status of devices online and offline as needed.
  • Notifies management and appropriate authorities if an alarm, trouble, or supervisory signal is received.
  • Initiates appropriate actions for alarm, supervisory, and trouble signals in accordance with area emergency procedures.
  • Records all actions and compiles all required reports in a timely and complete manner.
  • Assists with coverage for special events as needed.
  • Follows all facility maintenance policies, procedures, and programs.
  • May occasionally need to enter areas with smoke, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Creates reports of different situations encountered during their shift.
  • Complies with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Recognizes safety hazards and risks and proposes methods to eliminate them.
  • Must complete all required safety training as scheduled.
  • Practices defensive driving at all times.
  • Complies with all policies for the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Updates work order status in real-time.
  • Utilizes CMMS systems for all work performed.
  • Supports fire safety inspections.
  • Escalates issues or concerns to the client and manager in a timely manner.
  • Attends work and safety meetings as needed.
  • Lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Work at height.
  • Climbing, stooping, lifting, kneeling, crouching, and working/reaching overhead frequently.
  • Driving on site.
