About The Position

You are responsible for monitoring, controlling, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all mechanical/electrical systems for the City’s building systems.

Requirements

Completion of 2 year college diploma in Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning with CFC Certification
Minimum of 5 years of related maintenance and operational experience on building environmental systems and services
Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
Current Ontario Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certificate card
First Aid
Computers (PC based)
Modern building, mechanical and electrical systems
Plumbing, HVAC systems
Electronic and pneumatic controls
Air handling systems
Welding, brazing and soldering
Preventative maintenance procedures
Safety procedures
Municipal and Provincial Health & Safety and Fire Regulations
D.D.C. Systems (Honeywell, Johnstons, Andover, Omeran and Landis & Gyr)
Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems
Read blueprints (Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Structural)
Work effectively with others
Write simple memoranda and maintain records on log sheets
Write legibly
Work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to conduct repairs from elevated platforms
Alertness dependability, initiative
Aptitude for mechanics & D.D.C. controls
Good physical condition
