Requirements

  • Must meet either of the following requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent. plus at least 4 years work experience in a child caring institution
  • A Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of one year of work experience in a child caring institution.
  • Demonstrated skills in therapeutic interactions and approaches with GLS students.
  • Demonstrates an ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems
  • Remains calm under pressure and maintains self-composure/self-control
  • Must be able to work 4 overnight shifts a week.
  • Work weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision of third shift direct care program staff.
  • Responsible for the safety and security of the building.
  • Reviews daily coverage and program assignments of direct care staff per shift.
  • Re-assigns direct care staff to meet facility needs and to accommodate crisis situations.
  • Designates individuals to function as priority staff to assist with crisis intervention and/or supervise protective supervision needs.
  • Accepts sick call-ins and assists with meeting coverage needs for the next shift.
  • Monitors staff compliance with Employee Handbook information and departmental expectations.
  • Coordinates staff and residents in the event of emergency conditions.
  • Ensures proper completion of daily documentation reports.
  • Takes necessary action to ensure that the physical environment of the facility is healthy, safe, and organized
