Building Structural Engineer
About The Position
Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) is seeking experienced Structural Engineers to join their Structural/Marine Group in their Richmond, VA office. WRA, a company with over 110 years of history, focuses on designing infrastructure and buildings. The role involves working on a variety of challenging projects including buildings, industrial facilities, mission critical/secure facilities, water/wastewater plants, and waterfront facilities. The company emphasizes a collaborative team environment, a strong mentoring culture, and staff development. The engineer will perform structural analysis and design for various building types and materials, conduct field investigations, develop concept designs, and create construction documents for clients in Federal/Local Government, Industrial, and Manufacturing markets.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of structural design experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with Structural Concentration from an ABET accredited program.
- Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, etc.)
- Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, etc.)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in civil engineering with Structural Concentration preferred.
- Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
Responsibilities
