We are seeking a talented and experienced structural engineer to serve as a Technical Lead for our building/facility projects. This role involves the design of diverse projects, including commercial, municipal, state, and federal government structures. The engineer will act as the structural lead within multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring project objectives for scope, schedule, and budget are met. This position also involves providing technical guidance to junior engineers and managing the entire design process from initial layout to construction administration. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, high-energy engineer with a strong technical background, capable of thriving in a team environment and serving clients on significant projects along the East Coast.

Requirements

  • Proficient in discipline-specific design codes, references, and software for structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Knowledge of Revit or desire to learn Revit.
  • Exposure to Finite Element Modeling or Building Systems Analysis Programs (programs like RAM, RISA, ETABS, or SAP2000).
  • General knowledge of building construction materials and construction process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • 10+ years’ experience in building / facility structural engineering.
  • Related experience in design and production of construction documents for structural systems.

  • Proficient skills in BIM Revit modeling.
  • Professional Structural Engineer License.
  • Experience with RAM Structural System / RAM Elements.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a multidiscipline design team and perform structural engineering efforts to support the team.
  • Lead structural team to perform structural framing layout, design calculations, and supporting structural detailing for the development of deliverables such as reports and construction documents.
  • Develop construction documents using Revit software.
  • Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
  • Prepare engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
  • Coordinate with internal and external team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific quality plans.
  • Oversee and manage assigned staff working on projects.
  • Manage all technical resources on the project team.
  • Assist Office Managers and Practice Leaders with marketing proposals.
  • Develop and coordinate structural project scope within technical proposals.
  • Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meetings, coaching) that supports the growth and development of the team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
